Innovation Story VIC Labs
What if financial software began with intent rather than accounts and menus?
Aura is a VIC research and product initiative exploring a new financial operating model: people describe what they need money to do, and the system helps construct, simulate, govern, and operate the required financial capabilities.
The challenge.
Financial life is composed of goals, obligations, relationships, risk, timing, uncertainty, and changing priorities. Traditional interfaces divide that reality into fixed products and screens. Aura investigates whether the system can instead organize around intent and financial behavior.
The research direction.
- Capability creation from natural-language intent
- Rules, triggers, behaviors, and conditions
- Simulation before activation
- Governance and support-level controls
- Financial truth, ledgers, ownership, and auditability
- Adaptive interfaces rather than one fixed screen
- Capability libraries and marketplaces
- Human review for uncertain or high-risk actions
Engineering principles.
- No live claim without evidence
- Financial movement separated from advisory or memory actions
- Safety and support levels enforced explicitly
- Deterministic controls around probabilistic AI
- Every capability must be explainable, testable, and governable
- Unknown or unsupported behavior must fail safely
Current position.
Aura remains an advanced research and development initiative. Public claims reflect only capabilities that have been demonstrated and verified at the stated support level.
